You must take action! Planning is a very important and vital part of
starting or expanding your business, but you must always take action.
Test the waters for your plan see if what you think will happen will
actually work. A lot of times this is looked at as a field study, or
market research. Before I opened my store in Brooklyn Center, MN I did
a three month market research of the area and with my product. I had
the plan to sell my clothing line out of my store and build it through
my own private label. The three month market research was conducted in
the same location I was to open my store, in a kiosk in the middle of
the mall. This was very important to the success of my business,
because I was able to see the reaction of my exact customer and see if
the demand was great enough for me to survive. It turns out that the
demand was there, and I was able to open my first store three months
